Wellness Exams
A yearly exam is an important time to give your pet a thorough look-over. A lot can change in your pet’s health over the course of a year. An annual vet exam is similar to visiting your general practitioner roughly every seven years! Some of the things we cover during a wellness exam include: a complete physical exam, vaccines, internal and external parasite prevention, nutrition, addressing any changes in health or lifestyle, and answering any questions you have about your pet’s health.
Diagnostics
We have access to many diagnostic tools that we can use to assess your pet’s health. We have in clinic blood work, xrays and a urine analyzer which allow us to quickly screen for the most common illness and injuries. We also have in clinic cytology to test for ear infections, skin infections and check new masses. If your pet needs more specialized testing, we can access a variety of outside laboratories to get you the information you need. With this variety of diagnostic options, we can help select the most cost effective and productive diagnostic plan to suit your pet’s needs.
Surgery
Every now and then, surgery is necessary. We strive to make the experience as quick and painless as possible for you and your pet! We can perform a wide variety of surgeries: spays and neuters, mass removals, laceration repairs, intestinal surgery and many more. For those specialized surgeries like cranial cruciate ligament repairs, fracture repairs or surgery of the back, heart or lungs we work with the local board certified veterinary surgeons to provide continuity in your pet’s care.
Dentistry
Dental disease is the single most overlooked area in veterinary practice. It is estimated that 50% of canine and feline patients over 5 years of age have at least one painful dental problem. In addition, periodontal disease has been linked to cardiac, liver and kidney issues. Because of their nature, pets rarely show symptoms of dental disease – even when they are in pain! They will often continue to eat and act normally. Some subtle signs of periodontal disease you can watch for include: halitosis (bad breath), red gums, plaque build up on the teeth, your pet chewing more on one side of the mouth or preferring to eat soft foods. We can help identify dental problems, address issues (including extracting teeth when necessary) and maintain a healthy mouth for your pet.
Pharmacy
We have a fully stocked veterinary pharmacy in the clinic as well as the ability to deliver medication directly to your house through our online pharmacy.
