Erin Miller, DVM

Owner, Veterinarian

- Origin: Twin Cities area Minnesota
- Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, Graduated 1999
Internship completed in 2000 at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine
- Family: Joyfully married to my husband JB and living a wonderful life together with our dog Raleigh; companion, comfort and source of endless smiles.
- Why I love my job: I get to take care of animals and help them live their best lives. I am grateful to our pets for the joy and comfort they bring us. And I am inspired by how deeply people love their pets and how much pets love their owners. I love to solve puzzles, I love to fix things and I love to learn . Basically, this is the perfect job for me!
- Favorite things: My husband’s hugs, walking with my dog, swimming in lakes, fall, flowers, rainstorms/snowstorms, warm sunshine on a cool day, watching my husband and my dog have fun.

Lauren Stayer, DVM

- Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Graduated 2009
Internship completed in 2010 at WestVet Specialty & Emergency Center in Boise Idaho
- Veterinary Passions: Creating bonds with my patients & their owners. Helping guide an owner through a stressful situation. Caring for geriatric patients and improving their quality of life. Creating a compassionate veterinary clinic culture for pets, clients and staff.
- Family: Moved to Bend in the summer of 2010. Married to the most supportive, loving husband with 2 fun, crazy, happy kids and 1 rescue dog. Looking for another dog to include in our family in the near future.
- Downtime: Running, reading, spending time with my family & friends, enjoying the many lakes in Central Oregon, hiking

Kassie, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician

Origin: Born and raised in Oregon
Education: Associates degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Medicine from Central Oregon Community College, Certified Veterinary Technician, 2016.
Family: Happily married to my husband, Jerry. Two four-legged Boxer kids, Luke and Thea, that are always there for a warm snuggle or a good laugh. 
Downtime: My absolute favorite thing to do is load up the camp trailer and hit the road with my husband and dogs. Spending time with family and friends. I love the ocean and it is where I find my center. Spending time in the woods or on a lake in my kayak. 
Favorite things: My husband, dogs, reading, good food, the ocean, sun, watching TV, sitting around a fire pit, cider and wine.  
Wisdom from my dogs: Love unconditionally, bask in the sun anytime you can, stop and smell the flowers (or everything), never pass up the chance for a good treat or a meal. 

Makayla

Veterinary Assistant

Origin: Lincoln City, Oregon
Veterinary Passion: I love being around all animals, they create my happy place. Working with animals has always been a dream, and now it’s a dream come true!
Family: Moved to Bend in September 2014, surrounded by my mom, sisters and niece
Favorite Things: I love long walks and enjoy watching sunsets. Being around animals. Getting in a good gym sesh is always important!
Downtime: Reading motivational/inspiring books, yoga and watching crime TV shows.

Family: Happily married with our amazing son and living our best life with our best life with our fur babies; Emmy, Peach and Koda.

Why I Love My Job: I get to be around animals all day doing something I love and be there for both the good and bad days. I get to help people with someone who is very important to them. I love to see how much people love their pets!

Downtime: I love to be outdoors. So anything from hiking, swimming, fishing, going on walks, camping, I love it all! I also enjoy just having a day with my family hanging out at home and watching movies.

podcasts.

Wisdom from my dogs: Enjoy every moment and live in it. Don’t worry about the past and don’t plan too far in the future, just live in the present.

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Origin: Born and raised in McMinnville, Oregon.
What I love about my job: I love getting to know all of the individual personalities of the pets we help, and helping their owners feel confident in providing them with the care and the life that they deserve. 

Family: I am surrounded by family in Central Oregon, and I live with my rescue cat, Phillip.
Downtime: I love being outside in the sunshine, paddleboarding, camping, crafting, and watching TV.
Favorite Things: My cat, music, forests, my friends, my family, traveling, podcasts, the ocean, and caprese.
Wisdom from my cat: Stay curious and playful. You can yell excitedly about dinner or seeing your favorite people if you want to. Never miss out on a chance to soak up the sun.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Origin: Born in Colorado, raised here in Bend.
Education: Proud graduate of Bend Senior High School  
What I love about my job: I’m excited to be a part of Pawtown and to start forming relationships with our clients that love and care for their pets like I do.

Family: The most loving parents a girl could ask for, a niece – that now includes a husband and 2 little ones that own my heart! And my rescue, Charlie.
Downtime: I’m a family girl and spend as much time with them as I can. Spending time with my Charlie. And I’m a happy foster for the Humane Society of Central Oregon. 
Favorite Things: Hugs and kisses from the 2 littles in my life, the laughter of my parents and the luvins of my boy Charlie.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Origin: Born and raised in Bend, Oregon

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Gerontology and Minor in Exercise Science

Family: I come from a large family of animal lovers. We currently have 53 laying chickens, 2 turkeys, 2 fowls, 12 ducks and 17 quail. We’ll probably add a couple of cows and pigs soon.

Why I love My Job: I have always been a people person. I love to help and care for others, make them smile and try to make their day a little better. Here I am able to do what I love: care for people and their fur babies!

Downtime: I like to hang out with my family, cook/bake up yummy food for us, play with my dogs: Rambo, Hazel, Zoe, and Forrest, snuggle up on the couch with the pupperinos watching movies or college football (Hook em Horns! Go Beavs!)

Favorite things: The United States Marine Corps, music/singing, reading, fall, snow, hunting, fishing, sunrises and sunsets, the smell of rain on hot asphalt

Wisdom from my dogs: Love unconditionally. Having a ruff day? Take a nap. A house is not a home without a dog.

Amanda

Veterinary Assistant

Origin: Las Vegas, Nevada
Veterinary Career: I started as a Kennel Attendant and trained on the job to become a Veterinary Assistant. I fell in love with every aspect of veterinary medicine. Plus, I love the opportunity to snuggle all of the animals I get the pleasure of meeting!
Wisdom from my dogs: “Give them the puppy dog eyes, works every time!”
Downtime: Spending time with my family, of course. I love reading a good book or watching a thriller/horror movie. Playing keep away or ball and long hikes in the forest with my rescued fur babies. 

Rhonda

VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Origin: Native Oregonian, born in Southern Oregon
Education: I worked as Surgical Veterinary Technician from 2002-2006. Then I wanted to expand my knowledge of veterinary medicine and had the wonderful opportunity to work for Bend Veterinary Specialty Clinic as an Internal Medicine Technician for 15 years.  
Why I love my job: Making a positive difference in the lives of not only my patients, but their owners lives too. I love the fast paced environment of being a technician and the variety of tasks that must be performed with each patient. 
Family: I’m very blessed to be married to my best friend Rick and to get lots of puppy kisses from our dog, Poax. 
Downtime: I love spending time with my husband and our dog camping, hiking, paddle boarding, road and mountain biking.
Favorite Things: Spending my days off with my husband, dog, family and friends. 

Riki, CVT

CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Origin: Wilton, CA

Education: Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology, Carrington College, Sacramento, CA. 2020.

Family: I have created my own family consisting of my best friends Marissa and Stylleigh, my four Miniature Dachshunds: Grub, Wanda, Piper and Zazu, my German Shepherd puppy Zim, and my horse Rou.

Why I Love My Job: Animals bring peace for me, so caring for them truly brings joy. I love anesthesia and dental cleanings, they are satisfying and can be mentally challenging.

Downtime: In my downtime I like to care for my plants, take my dogs to the river, trail ride my horse and go to music festivals.

Favorite things: Reeses, Hiking, Coffee, Photography
